Why choose STD Blue?
Designed for the awkward stage between flooring and handover
On many jobs, the floor is finished before the trades are. Protection then has to manage dust, paint splashes and repeated access while respecting the floor system underneath. Anti-Slippery brings those needs into one manageable roll.
Let vapour pass
The breathable face allows measured water-vapour transmission, making it more appropriate than a sealed plastic cover where moisture movement is part of the floor manufacturer’s protection requirements.
Keep runs settled
The self-adhesive felt backing grips a compatible clean surface, helping reduce bunching, curling and the frequent repositioning associated with loose sheets.
Work without tape
Install adjacent runs with an overlap of about 7cm. On a straightforward area, the protection normally stays down without taping seams or the perimeter to the finished floor.
Remove cleanly
When installed on a suitable, correctly cured surface, the low-tack backing is designed to lift away without the sticky residue left by ordinary tapes and adhesive films.
Three functional layers, not a thin plastic sheet
The dark-blue face is a 30gsm breathable PE film. Beneath it, a 10gsm bonding layer joins the face to 120gsm of self-adhesive non-woven felt. Together they form a flexible covering that can be rolled through rooms, corridors and other internal work areas.
The PE face helps contain dust, tracked dirt, common paint splashes and minor spills. The felt provides modest cushioning and surface grip. The materials are described as REACH compliant and SGS RoHS verified. This remains temporary floor protection, not structural impact protection, so heavy plant, sharp legs and concentrated loads still need rigid boards or a suitable load-spreading system.
Suitable surfaces
Use it where breathability and stable coverage matter
Anti-Slippery can suit a range of clean, dry and compatible internal floors. Breathable does not mean "safe on every fresh finish", so always check the flooring, coating, sealer and adhesive manufacturer's cure time and temporary-protection instructions.
Timber flooring
Consider it for sealed timber and engineered boards where the supplier permits a breathable covering. Do not apply over oil, wax or an uncured coating.
Tile and stone
Useful after grout, sealers and installation materials have reached the required cure. Confirm compatibility with porous or chemically sensitive stone.
Vinyl & hybrid
Suitable for compatible resilient flooring after the system has been installed and cured in line with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Concrete and coatings
Can be considered for suitable concrete, sealed concrete and coated floors once the relevant supplier allows temporary adhesive protection.
Simple installation
Cover a nominal 50m² with one roll
The 1m × 50m format is straightforward to plan, although usable coverage will be lower after overlaps, cuts, stairs and waste. Work progressively so grit cannot become trapped beneath the felt.
Confirm the floor
Check cure requirements and compatibility. Sweep or vacuum thoroughly, remove grit and confirm the surface is dry.
Place felt-side down
Start square to the room. Unroll slowly and smooth forward rather than dragging the material across the finish.
Cut off the floor
Use scissors or a knife with a protective cutting board. Never run a blade directly against the finished surface.
Overlap by 7cm
Keep joints consistent and pressed flat. Inspect traffic routes during the job and replace torn or contaminated sections.

Documented breathability
A useful number, not a vague “breathable” claim
WVTR describes how much water vapour passes through a material under stated laboratory conditions. It does not shorten a floor’s required cure time, guarantee compatibility or make the installed system waterproof. Its practical value is that project teams can compare a measured breathable construction with an untested or fully sealed covering.

GSM tells you the material mass, but it does not tell the whole story. Match the product to the floor condition, breathability, traffic, spill exposure and the type of work happening above it.Feature | This productAnti-Slippery | |||

Where Anti-slippery fits
The specialist breathable option in the range
Choose Anti-Slippery when a project needs a self-adhesive covering and measured vapour transmission is more relevant than a fully sealed construction. It is particularly useful during flooring handovers, apartment upgrades, commercial fit-outs and final trade stages where compatible finished floors must stay covered while people continue moving through the area.
The textured working face and adhesive felt backing help the material sit more steadily than many loose plastic sheets. We deliberately describe this as improved stability rather than a certified slip rating: footwear, dust, liquids, gradients and site conditions all affect underfoot safety. Keep the surface clean and dry, inspect it regularly and maintain the project’s normal safety controls.

Anti-Slippery Floor Protection FAQs
Practical answers for builders, flooring contractors, painters, project buyers and resellers considering breathable self-adhesive floor protection.
What is Anti-Slippery 160gsm floor protection?
Anti-Slippery is a 160gsm multi-layer temporary floor protection roll with a dark-blue, liquid-resistant and breathable face, a cushioning felt layer and a self-adhesive backing. Each roll measures 1m × 50m and provides up to 50m² of nominal coverage before allowing for overlaps and offcuts.
What does breathable floor protection mean?
Breathable floor protection allows water vapour to pass through the material rather than completely sealing the covered surface. Independent laboratory testing measured this product’s water-vapour transmission rate at 1,176g/m²/24h under ASTM E96/E96M-24a Procedure B test conditions.
Breathability does not shorten the required curing time of flooring, adhesives, coatings, grout or sealers, and it does not guarantee compatibility with every finished surface.
Can it be used on newly installed or freshly coated flooring?
Only after the flooring, coating, adhesive, grout or sealer has reached the minimum curing stage specified by its manufacturer. Breathability can be useful where vapour transmission matters, but it does not make it safe to cover an uncured surface immediately.
Always follow the flooring manufacturer’s instructions and patch-test a small, inconspicuous area before installation.
Is Anti-Slippery floor protection waterproof?
The upper face is designed to resist common job-site splashes and minor spills. However, the installed covering should not be treated as a completely waterproof system because liquid may reach the floor through overlaps, edges, punctures or damaged areas.
Wipe up spills promptly and inspect the covering regularly throughout the project.
Does it have a certified anti-slip rating?
The textured face is intended to provide a more secure working surface than smooth plastic film, but the product is not currently promoted with a certified Australian slip-classification rating.
“Anti-Slippery” is the product name and does not mean slipping is impossible. Keep the installed surface clean and dry and continue following normal site-safety procedures.
Does Anti-Slippery floor protection need tape?
Floor tape is not normally required. The self-adhesive backing holds the material to a suitable clean and dry surface. Lay adjoining runs with approximately a 7cm overlap to help keep the covering secure without applying tape directly to the finished floor.
Will the adhesive leave residue?
The low-tack backing is designed for clean removal from compatible, fully cured surfaces when correctly installed and removed. Performance can be affected by the floor finish, moisture, contamination, temperature, curing condition and installation period.
Patch-test first and do not leave the material installed indefinitely.
How many rolls will I need?
Each 1m × 50m roll provides up to 50m² of nominal coverage. Usable coverage will be lower once you allow for 7cm overlaps, cutting, irregular rooms and installation waste.
As a practical guide, add approximately 10% to the measured floor area and round up to the next full roll. For example, a 100m² project will generally require about three rolls.
Can the material be reused and recycled?
It may be reused when removed carefully and kept clean, dry and undamaged, although the adhesive grip may reduce after the first installation. Never reuse material containing grit, wet paint, sharp debris or other contamination that could damage the next floor.
Recycling acceptance varies because the product contains multiple material layers. Check with your commercial waste or recycling provider before placing used material in a recycling stream.

Anti-slip characteristics and stable adhesive backing also make it a practical solution for busy environments where worker safety and surface stability are important.
On many construction and renovation projects, flooring is installed or coated before all trades have completed their work. During this stage, floors remain vulnerable to:
- Foot traffic
- Tool drops
- Dust contamination
- Paint spills
- Moisture build-up
- Surface scratching
Traditional non-breathable coverings can sometimes trap vapour beneath the material, especially in environments with changing temperatures or curing surfaces.
Our anti slippery self-adhesive floor protection helps reduce that risk by allowing airflow and vapour transmission while still maintaining strong surface shielding performance.
For contractors working with premium flooring materials, this added breathability can make a significant difference.
Keeping floors protected during a renovation, fit-out, or trade job is one thing, keeping the people walking on them safe is another. Our 160gsm self-adhesive breathable floor protection roll is built to do both at once. It's a felt-backed, self-adhesive covering designed for tradies, builders, painters, and anyone managing a busy work site where surfaces need to stay both undamaged and safe to walk on.
Unlike basic protective films that go slick the moment dust or moisture gets underfoot, this roll is engineered with a textured, grip-focused top layer that holds the anti-slip performance for the full duration of a project, whether that's a two-day paint job or a multi-week commercial fit-out. It's an ideal choice for anyone working across timber, tile, polished concrete, or vinyl flooring where a fall risk simply isn't worth the liability.
Every roll ships ready to lay: no adhesives to mix, no separate tape required, and no fuss getting it down on day one of the job.
