- Floor Protection Finder

Find the right floor protection in under a minute.

Tell us what floor you are protecting, what work is happening above it and how demanding the site will be. The Finder will narrow down the most suitable temporary protection for the job.

A finished timber floor may have very different requirements from porcelain tile. A two-day painting job does not need the same level of protection as a commercial fit-out with several trades moving equipment through the building.

Use our Floor Protection Finder to narrow down the most suitable protection for your project.

What floor are you protecting?

Select the closest match. This is the most important starting point.

What is the condition of the floor?

A floor may look finished before the complete flooring system is ready to be covered.

What work is taking place?

This helps us estimate the type of site activity your floor will experience.

How busy will the protected area be?

Think about how many workers, tools and materials will move through the area.

What is the main risk to the floor?

Choose the risk that best represents your project.

How long will the protection be required?

Your project duration helps us refine the recommendation.

Floor Protection Finder FAQs

1Which floor protection is suitable for timber?
For established, fully cured timber, the protection grade can be selected according to project activity and traffic. Newly installed, sanded or coated timber requires more care. Where breathability is required and covering has been approved, Anti-Slippery 160gsm may be considered.
2What should I use for marble or natural stone?
Natural stone should be assessed according to the stone, finish, sealer and condition. For compatible fully cured stone under normal renovation activity, STD Blue can be a practical starting point. Patch testing and approval are particularly important with valuable or sensitive finishes.
3Does thicker floor protection always mean better protection?
No. Thickness is only one factor. A heavier product may provide additional cushioning, but the floor condition, breathability requirements, grip, traffic and type of load can be equally important. Heavy concentrated loads may require rigid protection regardless of the roll weight.
4Can temporary floor protection stop every type of damage?
No temporary covering can guarantee that a floor will never be damaged. The floor should be clean before installation, protection should be inspected during the project, and additional rigid protection should be used where heavy or concentrated loads are expected.
5Can I buy floor protection wholesale?
Yes. Floor Protection® supplies temporary floor protection for wholesale, reseller and larger project requirements across Australia. Contact our team with the product, quantity and delivery location for supply information.
